SRC’s original notice identified July 26, 2026, as the closure date. SRC now anticipates that\nthe facility mass layoff will begin on or about June 30, 2026.\nThe permanent closure will affect SRC operations at the following locations:\n222 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45406\n105 S. Wilkinson Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402\nThis amended notice reflects SRC’s revision to the originally anticipated closure date of July 26, 2026. At\nthe time the initial notice was issued, SRC had not yet finalized whether its services would be transferred.\nThroughout this period, SRC’s decisions depended on whether other organizations would be able to\nassume those services. Accordingly, SRC was unable to announce these changes until the transfers were\nconfirmed. SRC now understands that services will transfer to other organizations effective June 30, 2026,\nat which time SRC’s operations will begin to close.\nSRC anticipates that the mass layoff will begin on June 30, 2026, affecting 160 employees, with an\nadditional 5 employees affected on July 10, 2026, and 4 employees affected on July 20, 2026.\nAs stated in the initial notice, after recognizing SRC’s financial condition, the Board worked to reduce the\nimpact of closure by engaging a financial specialist, prioritizing payroll and client services, exploring a\npotential merger or acquisition, coordinating with partner agencies to maintain services for seniors, and\nseeking transition opportunities for affected employees. Those efforts ultimately could not overcome the\norganization’s short-term debt and continuing financial losses.\nReceived: 6/16/2026 @ 12:59pm\nSRC has been working with the following agencies to transition client services and assist employees with\nemployment opportunities:\n• Area Agency on Aging, PSA2 — assisting with meal services, VHC, and ERS transitions\n• Greene County Council on Aging — assisting with meal services and ERS transitions\n• Catholic Social Services — assisting with meal service transitions\n• LifeLine (ConnectAmerica) — assisting with ERS transitions\n• Various HHC agencies — assisting with VHC transitions and employment opportunities\n• Goodwill Easterseals — providing job placement and job training assistance\n• Ohio Means Jobs Rapid Response Team — providing job placement and job training assistance\n• City of Dayton — sharing job placement resources and available job openings\nSincerely,\nRachel A.
