Laie Waina will offer employment to all LWC employees with wages, salary, and benefits that are no less favorable in the aggregate. Employees have been informed of their potential rights under the Hawaii Dislocated Workers’ Act. Summary of the Notice Laie Water Company, Inc. (LWC) has notified the department of a planned “closing” under Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 394B as part of the sale of its water utility business and related assets to Laie Waina, LLC. The Closing will take place no earlier than sixty‐five (65) days from the date of the notice and after approval by the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission. At the Closing, LWC will terminate the employment of its employees; however, Laie Waina will offer employment to all employees in positions with wages, salary, and benefits that are no less favorable overall than their current compensation. LWC does not anticipate any job loss resulting from this transaction. Employees have been provided written notice of the estimated Closing date and informed of their potential rights to a dislocated worker allowance under the Hawaii Dislocated Workers’ Act.
