(“Hebron Facility”). The number of affected employees at the Hebron facility\nis 110. These layoffs are permanent.\nDue to unforeseen business circumstances – including softer sales than anticipated and higher manufacturing\ncosts associated with inflation and inefficiencies – and despite diligent, good-faith efforts to (i) secure additional\nfunding, (ii) seek concessions with union pension plans regarding contributions, and (iii) identify a buyer for the\nbusiness after a several month process lead by an experienced investment banking firm, Schwebel’s has been\nunable to obtain sufficient financing or secure concessions with pension plans to continue operations, or to\nobtain an offer to purchase the business. As a result, Schwebel’s has no alternative but to wind down and\npermanently close its operations. Accordingly, we are providing you this notice as soon as practicable under the\ncircumstances. Had Schwebel’s secured additional funding, obtained concessions with the pension plans, and/or\nidentified a buyer, the wind down and closure could have been avoided, if not postponed. While we do not\nknow how creditors and other constituents will respond to this development, we expect layoffs will begin the\nweek of July 6 and, barring unforeseen circumstances, proceed through the Labor Day weekend, with all\nemployees to be terminated by Labor Day. Schwebel’s was unable to issue this notification sooner because\ndoing so would have deterred potential investors or buyers from due consideration.\nReceived: 6/17/2026 @ 5:35pm\nSome of the affected employees are represented by Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers\nInternational Union, Local No. 19.
